What Lies Beneath is an original abstract acrylic painting by Lori Sowle, created with translucent layers of blue, turquoise, green, and softened white over a darker foundation.

Rather than completely covering the underlying surface, portions were allowed to remain visible, creating depth and movement beneath the lighter passages. The result is an atmospheric painting in which color, texture, and light seem to emerge gradually from what lies below.
