Behind the Painting
The Way Through began with an exploration of light—particularly the fleeting golden hour when the sun sits just beyond the horizon and the atmosphere takes on a soft, golden-white glow.
Built through transparent layers and glazing, the painting allows color and form to emerge, recede, and reappear. Deep greens and muted blue-grays frame a luminous passage that moves through the composition, while subtle warmth rises through the surrounding mist.
Rather than describing a specific landscape, The Way Through suggests a place somewhere between the seen and the remembered. Light becomes both atmosphere and direction—an opening through uncertain terrain and a quiet invitation to continue forward.
