Light Through the Trees

Foreground Detail
Behind the Painting
Woodland Threshold began with an exploration of earth tones. As I worked, the colors and shapes gradually began to suggest a woodland—a landscape I hadn't intentionally set out to create.

Once the trees emerged, I introduced the pale area on the left as light breaking through them. Against the darker, denser forms of the woods, that opening began to feel like more than a source of light. It felt like an invitation.

The finished painting became a threshold—a place at the edge of the woods where light seems to offer a way through.
