Behind the Painting

Blue Field began with a dark central form—a shadow that reflected the mood I was in at the time. Working within a monochromatic palette, I became interested in exploring how far a single color could move, from its deepest, most saturated tones into areas of softness and light.

As the painting developed, the shadow remained, but it became part of a larger field of shifting blues. Dark and light coexist without either completely overtaking the other, creating a space that feels both introspective and open.

Blue Field is less about finding an answer than allowing myself to stay with a feeling—to explore its depths, its variations, and the subtle changes that exist within it.
