Where Light Gathers is an original atmospheric abstract painting by Lori Sowle. Layers of deep blue, muted green, soft gray, and warm luminous color create the suggestion of water, distant land, and light emerging through an unsettled atmosphere.

Developed through experiments with translucency and layered color, the painting evolved intuitively as darker forms began to surround and direct the illuminated center. Passages overlap, soften, and disappear into one another, allowing the landscape to remain ambiguous rather than fully defined.

The result is a quiet, contemplative work centered on the fleeting moment when light gathers, shifts, and briefly reveals what had been hidden.
